Yin Yoga: Therapy and Practices
Tutor: Kate Kearns
Kate will lead an interesting full day workshop to enhance our yoga practice. She will teach yin yoga, restorative postures and self-myofascial release techniques.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced meditative style of postures which are held for longer periods to improve flexibility. In the morning we will alternate yin yoga with relaxing supported restorative postures. Yin aims to unblock meridians in order to free up energy and it also offers a sense of wellbeing through deep release of yang tension.
After lunch Kate will continue with a Yin and Tonic workshop, incorporating self-myofascial release techniques. We will use tennis or massage balls to help eliminate muscle tension and increase joint flexibility/mobility. We will then practise some alternative yin poses. A relaxing yoga nidra will complete the day’s activities. The perfect end to the yin yoga deep releasing practices it will bring calmness, quietness and deep relaxation.
