Our morning session consisted of both a Hatha Yoga practice and also an Iyengar Yoga practice. Throughout the mornings asanas we were taught using emphasis on correct alignment. Lindsay’s teaching was both detailed and precise. Classic poses consisted of Uttitha Trikonasana (Extended Triangle pose), Uttitha Parsvakonasana (Extended Side flank stretch pose) and Prasarita Padottonasana (Wide Legged forward fold pose). Our balances were challenged in Vrksasana (Tree pose) and Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon pose). Lindsay showed us how to utilise our belts to keep the shoulders back and prevent rounding. Our practise was well supported with blocks, bricks, belts and bolsters.

The afternoon settled well as we moved into a restorative practice. For Restorative Yoga, bolsters are a main prop and we performed a balanced set of various poses covering forward and backward bends, side stretches, twists and inversions. These poses included variations of Salabhasana (Locust pose), Supta Baddha Konasana (Lying bound angel pose) and Jathara Parivartanasana (Revolved abdomen pose). The day ended with a lovely relaxation whilst we lay in Savasana.
