CYTA Website Privacy Policy
This site collects data from the user:
- when a Web Form is submitted.
- when a user purchases a Ticket for a CYTA event.
- when applying for or renewing CYTA membership.
We use Google Analytics to review interactions with our website and to improve the service we provide.

Purchasing a ticket online:
When you purchase a ticket from our website we do not store credit or debit card numbers on our web server. Card information is transmitted securely through encrypted communication to our payment gateway Stripe.com who handle the transaction. We do not hold your card details and we cannot take additional payments from your account.
We use Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) as required by the European Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2)
During the transaction process when purchasing a ticket we will collect the following information which is stored on our web server:
- Your Name
- Your Address
- Your Email address.
This information is not used for marketing purposes. This information may be used to verify your identity at a CYTA event, for example if you have forgotten or lost your ticket. This information will be deleted from our server when the event has finished.
Our payment gateway is provided by stripe.com
As of October 2021 our payment provider does not make a charge for payment refunds. Refunds for tickets are provided in full. Refunds are at the discretion of the CYTA Committee and CYTA Secretary Sue Hargreaves.
Using the Web Form
The Web Form is a way to send information requests to CYTA. It should NOT be used to transmit sensitive information such as bank account or credit card details. Information submitted on the Web Form is sent via email to the Website Administrator who may forward the information on to another CYTA member.
Data sent via the Web form is not encrypted and should not be used to send sensitive information of any kind.
The CYTA website server does not hold a membership list or member details other than the ones collected during the purchase of a ticket (see above). If you wish to view your personal data that CYTA holds please make a request via the Web Form.
Information such as articles and images which are published on this site may also be made available to other sites e.g. our Facebook page etc. We do not share member or non-member details with other third party websites.
If you wish to contact CYTA via email or Web Form we will retain the email indefinitely for our records unless you state in the email that you wish us to erase it.
Our Web Server:
Our server provider Digital Ocean may collect data for the purpose of improving security and performance. They can be contacted at privacy@digitalocean.com for their policy and additional information can be found on the following links:

If you require amendments or deletion of information published on this site please contact the Site Administrator via the Contact Form.

All images are provided either by CYTA Members, free to use websites or from pexels.com on a free to use basis.
Membership Lists:
CYTA Maintain a Membership List. This list is not held on the website web server and is independent of the CYTA Website. Requests for information about the Membership List should be forwarded to CYTA Secretary Sue Hargreaves.
Emails
CYTA will send emails to members and non-members with information about the website and forthcoming events. If you wish to be added or removed from this list please contact the Site Administrator via the web form.
Service Level:
We aim under normal circumstances to reply to emails and submissions via the web form within 24 hours.
Complaints:
All complaints regarding the website should be submitted via the web form for resolution by the Website Administrator. If you are unhappy with the outcome you should appeal to the CYTA Secretary Sue Hargreaves for further investigation by the committee.
